Land for Sale in Delaware
Find Farms, Ranches, Acreage, and Country Homes for Sale
At just 1, 954 square miles, Delaware is the smallest state in the country after Rhode Island. The economy here is largely driven by banking and financial services, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, with farming making up a much smaller slice of overall state GDP. A number of Delaware state parks, waterways and coastal regions offer outdoor recreation aplenty, including sea kayaking, deep-sea fishing and biking. Delaware is also a prime location for birds migrating down the Altantic "Flyway" between seasons and a boon for birdwatchers and hunters alike. Delaware ranks among the country's smallest states in terms of size, covering an area of 2,489 square miles (2 million acres). Of its total landmass, 1,949 square miles (78 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 540 square miles is covered by water. Less than ten percent of land in Delaware is public land (i.e. national and state parks, national forests, BLM land).
